Adam Levine has been taking “proactive steps” to repair his marriage with Behati Prinsloo amid claims the Maroon 5 singer cheated.

Levine, 43, spoke out Tuesday after social media model Sumner Stroh accused him of having a yearlong affair.

“A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” the singer wrote on his Instagram story. “I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life.”

Levine added: “In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”

“My wife and my family is all I care about in this world,” he continued. “To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together.”

Levine’s statement comes days after Prinsloo, 34, confirmed the couple was having a third child. The Victoria’s Secret model shared a photo of her pregnancy bump on Thursday captioned, “Recent ‍♀️.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Levine, Prinsloo and Stroh’s representatives for comment.

Levine and Prinsloo married in 2014 and share two daughters: Dusty Rose, 5, and Gio Grace, 4.

Stroh first made claims of an affair in a TikTok video shared Monday. “I was having an affair with a man who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret model. At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited,” she said.

Although the 23-year-old did not name him at first, Stroh’s video including screenshots of flirty Instagram messages allegedly sent from Levine.

One alleged screenshot from Levine said, “Ok serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s (a) boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious.”

She later posted another video clarifying that she is not “trying to gain sympathy.”

“I fully realize I’m not the victim of this. I’m not the one who’s really getting hurt here. It’s Behati and her children, and for that, I’m so, so sorry,” Stroh said.

The social media model also alleged that she was “under the impression that their marriage was over.”

“I believed that they were keeping it quiet to avoid the negative press because, as I had said, I was new to LA, so I just assumed that with celebrities of that calibre, that that’s just how it was,” Stroh said.
