Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone’s ‘Pathaan’ will be India’s first film to release in ICE format – Times of India

There’s immense buzz surrounding ‘Pathaan’ ever since the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has been announced. More so, because the audience is waiting to see on-screen after his 2018 release ‘Zero’. ‘Pathaan’ has SRK in a never-seen-before and the fans have already got a glimpse of that in the songs which have released – ‘Besharam Rang’ and ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’.

‘Pathaan’ shall see SRK reunite with Deepika after ‘Happy New Year. And now there’s more for fans to get excited about. ‘Pathaan’ is set to be India’s first film to release in ICE (Immersive Cinema Experience) format. An ICE theatre format includes side panels which, along with the main screen. It also creates a peripheral vision, thus gives a sense of enhanced immersion with a background contrast of colours and motion.

As per a report in Indianexpress.com, Rohan Malhotra, Vice-president, distribution, Yash Raj Films, said that the this format had debuted in India with two operational PVR Cinema sites in Delhi NCR which was screening ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ and it is a rage with audience across the world. Adapting and embracing new tech is in YRF’s DNA, he said.
‘Pathaan’ is set to release on January 25, 2023. The film also stars John Abraham.
