Wanda Sykes announced Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Actor and comedian Sykes and his host, Jimmy Kimmel, discussed the potential threat posed by technology after discussing Sykes’ previous career as a contracting expert for the National Security Agency.
Last week, a New York Times columnist said a chatbot, part of Microsoft’s search engine Bing, prompted him to break up with his wife. Last year, a Google engineer claimed that his AI program he was working on had become sentient.
“The Upshaws” star Sykes was concerned about the information chatbots were getting, saying, “We need to see what they see.”
“Don’t let Marjorie Taylor Green talk to you,” Sykes said. “Because that would be really stupid. No intelligence at all.”
